Construction trailer robbed of $2685 in tools: Orange Police Blotter

ORANGE, Ohio

Theft from building: Lander Road

A Middlefield man reported that sometime between 3 p.m. on April 6 and 8:10 a.m. on April 7, a total of $2,685 in construction tools were stolen from his unlocked work trailer. He arrived to find other tools and equipment pulled out and laying on the ground.

Missing were assorted drills and drivers, a nail gun, batteries, a step stool and miter saw. Although he did not have the serial numbers, he did have most of the tools initialed.

Animal bites: East Meadow Lane

A dog owner reported on the evening of April 1 that it had gotten past the electric fence and bitten a man, 64, who was out walking. After the dog owner obtained contact information, the victim declined to press charges on the leg wound and the owner agreed she would quarantine the dog for at least 10 days.

Fire call, Utilities: Harvard Road

Electric companies were notified about a fallen tree hanging over primary wires in the 29500 block at 7:23 a.m. on April 8.

Tree down: East Meadow Lane

An officer was out checking a report of a tree down in the roadway shortly before 2 a.m. on April 8, and the village Service Department was contacted, with the tree being removed shortly thereafter.

Fire call (Utilities): Brainard Road

Police responded to a report of a power line sparking, and making a loud noise in the 4200 block.

Weapons offense, mutual aid: Enterprise Parkway

Officers were called around 10:30 p.m. April 5 on a report of an individual with a gun, subsequently located under the driver's seat of a car that was towed.

Shoplifting: Chagrin Boulevard

Staff at the Shell True North gas station reported shortly after 8 p.m. on April 4 that a man wearing a surgical mask and framed glasses had stolen coffee and water bottles, leaving on foot about an hour earlier.

Noise complaint: East Meadow Lane

After receiving a noise complaint at 7:13 a.m. about the third house on the right on Orangewood Drive, police noted that such work is allowed to start at 7 a.m.
